Beyond the extraordinary artistic heritage, a testimony to its centuries of civilization, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset, or to get lost among the city’s myriad alleyways of the bohemian Oltrarno or the narrow little streets of San Niccolò, where it feels like you have ended up in another time along its centuries-old walls.

In one hour by car, you can reach the walled town of San Gimignano, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval villages. As you crest the nearby hills, the fourteen towers of the town rise up like a medieval Manhattan. This carefully-restored villa is ideal for families and groups of friends who want to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside in complete privacy. Offering a calm atmosphere, Villa Gran Madre can accommodate eighteen guests in nine double bedrooms (or twelve guests in six double bedrooms) with an en-suite bathroom.

Surrounded by a lush garden, this magnificent property boasts an exceptional swimming pool and a generous paved poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind. Offering a calm atmosphere, the poolside area represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book. The outdoor area also boasts large parasols, providing plenty of shade on hot summer days.

Decorated with a palette of soft and natural tones, the carefully-designed and maintained indoor spaces are very spacious and feature antique furniture. With original frescoes and an attractive yesteryear atmosphere, the villa is surrounded by a romantic park with monumental trees. On the first floor, you will also find an additional bathroom with a large shower, a living room with original frescoes and a fireplace, and an additional living room. The villa can be rented for eighteen guests or twelve guests.
