Castello Pontassieve and its attractive village lie in the Chianti hills just 15 km. from Florence, in a very panoramic position with a 360 degree view of the olive groves and vineyards that are part of the extensive property. The Castle dates back to the 11th century, it was built in a dominant position on a slope overlooking the surrounding countryside, with this advantageous location being used as an observation and defence position since the Longobard Age. Pontassieve Castle has hosted illustrious people from the time of Dante and Petrarca, and in more recent times with Giocchino Rossini, Giosuè Carducci and Enrico fermi.

The Castle has been carefully restored and offers the possibility of a suggestive stay in surroundings and an atmosphere from other times. It is furnished with antique furniture, some of which are of notable value, in perfect harmony with the style of the manor. The outdoor area is looked after well and consists of a small Italian garden and a swimming pool which has the particular characteristics of been partly built inside an ex-lemon conservatory and partly in the open air.

Pontassieve Castle is to be found in the Florentine hills, very close to Florence and at a height of approximately 440 m. The grounds, predominately vineyards and olive groves, surround the Castle on all sides and cover about 200 hectares. It is possible to taste farm products grown in the Castle.

This Medieval Castle not only produces wines (DOGC Chianti Colli Fiorentini, IGT), but also Grappa, Vinsanto, and Extra-vergin olive oil, and when visiting the old wine cellar, it is possible to see the museum of antique agricultural tools too.

Third Floor: large billiard room with TV, games table, TV Equipment, biliards. Outdoors: swimming pool (6x12) partly covered, with changing room and shower, garden and equipped outdoor area.

Retention time
