The property is just a stone’s throw from Lucca, known as “the city of 100 churches.” Hidden behind impressive Renaissance walls, its cobbled streets, delightful squares, and shady promenades make it a perfect destination to explore on foot. At the end of the day, open-air cafés and historic restaurants tempt visitors to relax over a glass of Lucchese wine and a slow progression of dishes prepared with fresh produce from nearby Garfagnana.

In just thirty minutes by car, you can easily reach Pisa, exceptionally well known for its Leaning Tower. Moving between its alleys and riversides, you will discover architectural jewels such as Santa Maria della Spina, the headquarters of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Piazza dei Cavalieri, the exhibitions at Palazzo Blu, and the magnetic charm of Piazza dei Miracoli. Start from the Baptistery and head to the 130-metre Camposanto Monumentale overlooking the square.

The villa is only a few kilometres from Viareggio, the most important city in Versilia. Established as a port of Lucca, this popular sun-and-sand resort is renowned for its flamboyant Carnevale, second only to Venice’s carnival, and for its dishevelled line-up of art-nouveau façades along its seafront, which recall the town’s 1920s and ’30s heyday. Stroll along the charming streets of the city centre, enjoy a gelato on the Passeggiata, and gaze out to sea on the Darsena.

Famous for being the preferred holiday destination of many international celebrities, Forte dei Marmi is just a stone’s throw away from the villa and is ideal for those who love high-standard services and vibrant nightlife. With its beautiful beaches, exclusive designer boutiques, and lively atmosphere, Forte dei Marmi attracts tourists from all over the world every year. Before leaving the town, do not forget to take a stroll along the pier, historically used for loading marble extracted from the quarries onto boats.

The Property
Surrounded by greenery, Villa Cara combines Tuscan charm with modern sophistication, boasting lavish interiors, handcrafted details, and precious artwork. With tranquil gardens overlooking the picturesque landscape, the villa offers unrivalled privacy. With an exceptional location near Lucca, Villa Cara can accommodate up to 22 guests: 18 guests in eight bedrooms (six double bedrooms, a twin room, and a quadruple room) in the main villa, and four guests in two bedrooms (a double bedroom and a twin room) in the dépendance.

Inside the property, attention to detail meets exquisite design. The lighting throughout the interiors is predominantly provided by Floss, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The grand moon lights are thoughtfully crafted by Davide Groppi, illuminating the surroundings with a mesmerising glow. The selection of chairs is designed by renowned Italian creators, including Kartell. A stunning mirror by Fiam adds a touch of elegance to the interior space while enhancing its aesthetic appeal.

Surrounded by a garden, this magnificent villa boasts a large pool and a paved poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers. The open spaces of the villa offer a sanctuary for relaxation, inspiration, and connection with nature. Here, time slows down, allowing you to truly appreciate the beauty and tranquillity surrounding you. The outdoor area also features a covered al fresco dining area, an outdoor lounge, a brand-new Weber barbecue, and a pizza oven. Heat lamps and blankets are also provided for cooler days.

Main Villa:
The main villa spans 1,000 square metres over two floors and can accommodate 18 guests in eight bedrooms: six double bedrooms, a twin room, and a quadruple room. The ground floor boasts a double bedroom (European king-size bed) with an en-suite bathroom (with both shower and tub), a private office with a printer, a fully-equipped gym (which includes a treadmill, elliptical, and spin bike), a fully renovated guest bathroom with large marble tiles, a fully renovated kitchen, a large dining table, a games table, a spacious seating area around a fireplace, and a TV area with comfortable couches.

The fully renovated kitchen features a Gaggenau coffee machine, double ovens, two dishwashers, and a stove top, as well as a garburator. Here, you will also find multiple small appliances, including a blender, drip coffee machine, instant pot, and juicer. Additionally, there is a large wine fridge filled with local wines available for purchase. A spacious seating area is directly off the kitchen and dining area, featuring a large table with parasols offering plenty of shade. This provides an additional outdoor seating area.

The upper floor of the main villa features seven bedrooms and six en-suite bathrooms (with both shower and tub). One bathroom has been fully renovated and includes large marble tiles. One of the seven bedrooms on the upper floor is a quadruple room, featuring twin beds and a European king-size bed, making it ideal for families with children. On this floor, you will also find a pool table and a separate TV/media room that includes an exclusive Xbox. Air conditioning is available in all bedrooms, the office, the gym, the TV room, and the common areas.

Dépendance:
Offering a seamless blend of comfort and style, the dépendance accommodates four people in two bedrooms (one double bedroom with a European king-size bed and one twin room). With elegant furnishings, the dépendance features a bathroom with both tub and shower. The dépendance measures 250 square metres and includes a living area with a TV and wireless Internet access, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen, including a Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, milk frother, oven, microwave, stove top, and dishwasher. Please note that the dépendance does not feature air conditioning; however, it remains quite cool as it is below ground level.
