Nestled in a panoramic position, Castello Colle Alto is ideally located for day trips to Umbria’s most beautiful towns and provides a unique opportunity to admire the iconic landscape while immersing oneself in the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

Castello Colle Alto is a stone’s throw from Perugia, Umbria’s largest city. Its historic centre features a maze of cobbled alleys, arched stairways, and piazzas surrounded by grand churches and palazzi. The city’s past is visible in ancient arches, medieval basilicas, and Renaissance frescoes by artists like Perugino and Raphael. Perugia also boasts vibrant nightlife, with university students filling cafés and music enthusiasts flocking to Umbria Jazz, one of Europe’s top jazz festivals.

The villa is also just a stone’s throw from Gubbio, a charming town set on the steep slopes of Mount Ingino, known for its rich history and culture. The Property
Immersed in a landscape of outstanding beauty characterised by gentle hills, vineyards, and olive groves, Castello Colle Alto provides the perfect retreat for those seeking complete relaxation in the heart of Umbria. Built in the 11th century, this magnificent castle and its adjoining church have been meticulously restored to the highest standard, incorporating the conveniences of modern living. The property can accommodate up to twenty guests, offering six bedrooms in the main unit and four bedrooms in the guest house.

The villa is surrounded by an exquisitely maintained garden, featuring a magnificent infinity pool (14 x 4 m; heated upon request at an extra cost) and an exceptional poolside area equipped with comfortable sun loungers and deckchairs. Offering a peaceful atmosphere and spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, this sophisticated property also boasts an outdoor lounge and dining area where guests can spend intimate time together while enjoying traditional Italian cuisine and unforgettable sunsets.

Main Unit:
On the ground floor of the main unit, the interior living space features a living room with a fireplace, a spacious dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen. As evening falls, gather around the fireplace and relax with a glass of Grechetto di Todi. This floor also includes a sitting room, a convenient laundry room, and two light-filled king-size double bedrooms, both with air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Additionally, there is an exclusive, renovated annexed church on this floor.

Accessed by a short flight of steps, the first floor includes an extra sitting room, a TV room, and a guest bathroom for added convenience. This floor also has three light-filled double bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Two bedrooms have direct access to the terrace overlooking the garden. The second floor continues the rustic-meets-modern theme with a king-size double bedroom featuring a marble shower and whitewashed beamed ceilings. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.

Guest House:
On the ground floor of the guest house, guests will find a cosy living room, a dining room with a fireplace, and a fully-equipped kitchen, along with an additional sitting room and a guest bathroom. The first floor features two king-size bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with a shower and air conditioning, as well as a sitting room with access to the outdoor area. The second floor houses two more king-size bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom with a shower and air conditioning.

Retention time
