In less than an hour by car, you can reach Florence, a treasure trove of art with an astonishing contemporary vibe. Beyond the extraordinary artistic heritage, a testimony to its centuries of civilization, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset or to get lost among the city’s myriad alleyways in the bohemian Oltrarno or the narrow streets of San Niccolò, where it feels like you have stepped back in time along its centuries-old walls.

In an hour by car, you can reach the walled town of San Gimignano, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval villages. As you crest the nearby hills, the fourteen towers of the town rise like medieval Manhattan. Retention time
