The Property
Located in Borgo San Lorenzo, in the heart of Tuscany, Castello del Galateo offers an oasis of tranquillity. Boasting panoramic views of the Tuscan hills and dating back to the 15th century, this exclusive castle was masterfully renovated in 2021. It can accommodate up to 20 guests in 10 double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, spread over two floors. The castle can also host up to four additional guests in two double sofa beds, each located in separate rooms.

Surrounded by a generous garden, the property boasts a saltwater pool (heated on request, at an extra cost) and a spacious poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers. With its tranquil atmosphere, the poolside area provides an idyllic spot to bask in the Tuscan sun and relax. Set within a large eight-hectare park enclosed by stone walls, the estate features sequoias, ginkgo biloba, and ancient cedars of Lebanon, an exclusive consecrated chapel, and a charming vegetable garden.

With an exquisite blend of period charm and modern comfort, the ground floor is dedicated to leisure and socialising with your fellow guests. Featuring a palette of soft, neutral colours, it comprises a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with garden access, a living room, a Chinese-style room with TV, a billiard room, two guest bathrooms, and a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, and iron. Also on the ground floor are two double bedrooms (each measuring 42 sqm), complete with en-suite bathrooms with showers.

On the first floor, there are eight bedrooms, all luxurious and elegantly furnished. In detail, these include: an 80-square-metre double bedroom with a four-poster bed, lounge corner, and en-suite bathroom featuring a double shower and a large Jacuzzi bathtub; two 80-square-metre double bedrooms, each with a separate lounge area featuring a double sofa bed and fireplace, and a travertine marble en-suite bathroom with shower. An antique bathtub is located within each bedroom itself, overlooking the park.

Also on the first floor are: a 40-square-metre double bedroom with a beautiful antique copper bathtub, and a marble bathroom with an extra-large shower; an 18-square-metre double bedroom (or twin room) with a marble bathroom featuring a shower and whirlpool bathtub, which can be connected to the next 20-square-metre bedroom; and a 20-square-metre double bedroom (or twin room) with a marble bathroom with shower and antique bathtub, which can be connected to the 18-square-metre bedroom.

Finally, the first floor also includes: a 30-square-metre double bedroom (or twin room) with a marble bathroom featuring a shower and whirlpool bathtub, and another 30-square-metre double bedroom (or twin room) with a marble bathroom with shower and antique bathtub. The property also features an exclusive wellness area, located in the castle’s tower on the second floor, which comprises a sauna, a hammam, and a modern gym with Technogym facilities. Please note that the night porter sleeps in a staff room on the ground floor.
