Set in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, this beautifully renovated Renaissance villa is ideally located to explore Tuscany’s cultural and natural wonders. In the heart of Chianti, halfway between Florence and Siena, Tenuta Conca Dorata takes its name from the Conca d’Oro, a fertile valley once known for its golden corn and now celebrated for its exceptional wine. The villa is nestled within a wine and olive oil estate, part of the prestigious Panzano Vintners, who oversee one of Italy’s top terroirs.

The vineyards in this picturesque part of Tuscany produce the grapes for the renowned Chianti and Chianti Classico, world-famous red wines. The Chianti region is a landscape steeped in history and beauty, where you will encounter ancient olive groves, honey-coloured stone farmhouses, lush forests, charming Romanesque churches, elegant Renaissance villas, and imposing stone castles, once the strongholds of powerful Florentine and Sienese warlords.

The villa is just a stone's throw from Panzano, a fortified town founded in the early Middle Ages at the highest point between the Greve and Pesa valleys. Overlooking the Conca d’Oro, a “Golden Basin” of sunbaked Sangiovese vines, Panzano is now largely focused on food and wine. It is home to Italy’s most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini, with his trio of restaurants: Dario DOC, for informal lunches at communal tables; Solociccia, for hearty meat-lovers; and Officina Della Bistecca, for the very hungry carnivore.

The property is just a few kilometres from Greve in Chianti, a gastronome’s haven with boutiques and craft shops. The 15th-century market square, framed by an arcade, is the town’s heart. Greve’s butchers are famous for their beef, wild boar, and cured pork. Surrounded by Chianti vineyards, Greve hosts the Expo del Chianti Classico, a popular grape harvest festival. Over a long weekend in September, enjoy guided tastings, live music, and more. This is classic Chianti country, as seen in pictures and Renaissance paintings.

Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, this villa is ideal for families and groups of friends who want to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside in complete privacy. Offering a tranquil atmosphere, Tenuta Conca Dorata can accommodate 14 guests in 7 double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.

Tenuta Conca Dorata is the estate's centrepiece. Overlooking a 135-hectare wine and olive estate, it is found in one of the region’s finest terroirs. The villa has been carefully restored, keeping its historic charm with recovered frames, windows, and doors. Original beams have been repurposed for the oak flooring in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The interiors feature antique furniture, changing colours, artwork, frescoed walls, coffered ceilings, and elegant chandeliers.

Upon entering the property, guests are welcomed by a striking avenue lined with olive trees on the left and lemon trees in magnificent terracotta vases on the right. The villa is set within elegant gardens, featuring a grand staircase leading down into ornamental gardens, crisscrossed with fountains and water channels. Adding further charm and history to the property is the beautifully restored, still consecrated chapel, situated beside the gardens.

Beyond the walled garden, the pool (heated on request) is set within a tranquil garden shaded by a charming, old estate barn, which has been converted into a luxurious Finnish sauna. The barn also includes a changing room, shower, and bathroom, while its loggia is furnished with a kitchen and dining area, perfect for al fresco meals. Relax on the terrace that runs along the entire end of the villa, offering views of the gardens and the patchwork of vineyards and olive groves stretching as far as the eye can see.

To the side of the villa, a paved area features a dining table for up to 14 people, shaded by a pergola. There is also a wood oven area with intimate seating, where guests can enjoy the surrounding gardens, including a vibrant, aromatic lemon garden, and well-placed shrubs and flowers that frame glimpses of the Tuscan hills and vineyards. Please note that the property is part of a winery estate, and the villa is located near the winery offices. However, guests' privacy is assured, as no buildings overlook the outdoor spaces.

On the ground floor, you will find an elegant living room, a fireplace room, a cosy library, and a beautiful frescoed dining room with a long table for fourteen. Relax in one of the comfy armchairs after a long walk through the vineyards, or prepare dinner in the fully-equipped kitchen. A guest bathroom is also on this floor. The seven double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with a shower, are located on the upper floor, along with a spacious fireplace room. Air conditioning is available throughout.
