Location and Surrounding Area
In one of the most beautiful scenarios of Tuscan Countriside in the middle of Florence and Siena Villa Donna Letizia lays, just few minutes’ drive away to Castellina in Chianti, Monteriggioni, Radda and Gaiole. Florence is at 45 km and Siena at 25 km. All the property is fully surrounded by an impressive scenario of extensive vineyards and rolling hills with olive trees and small hamlet perched on the hills. Villa Donna Letizia is a historic mansion into a larger estate.

The first records of the Villa and its hamlet date back to the Middle Ages. At that time it was a fortified complex comprising the Church of Santa Cristina with a characteristic single large nave (unusual for the parish churches of Chianti). The facade, decorated with a well preserved cornice made of limestone, is highly original. The impressive construction of the farmhouse dominates the village.

The complex was owned by the Marquis of Tuscany, later by the Abbey of Poggibonsi and by the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuova di Firenze. The hamlet suffered sieges and destruction during the wars between Siena and Florence due to its position on the border between the territories of the two extensive, argumentative republics and to the fact that it was close to important strongholds such as Staggia, Castellina in Chianti and Monteriggioni.

While retaining the medieval formation which can be seen in the topography, the cellars and enclosure walls, the architecture developed gradually through a series of styles to assume its current eighteenth century appearance.

The Borgo of Villa Donna Letizia is composed by: The Villa, the little Church of Santa Cristina, the two cellars and twelve farmhouses with swimming pools two lakes of 460 hectares woodland, olive trees and vineyards.

Now, only for discerning travelers the owners, an Italian patrician family put at guest disposal a part of this stylish estate, consisting of 2 floors of the Palazzo and its secluded 500 sq. m. garden with a newest pool (10 mt x 4 mt)  and next to the villa, crossing a small path, at 50 m. to the house a large infinity pool with a scenic view on the olive trees and the vineyard.

In the basement of the Villa Donna Letizia there are also the cellar of Chianti Classico for wine tastings and direct sale of the farm’s products.

Villa Donna Letizia is a cheerfully decorated Tuscan patrician house with a touch of rustic style. A relaxed family home based on three stories. The Villa can accommodate up to 18 people in 9 bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom.

On the ground floor there is a large and representative kitchen with all the modern amenities and perfect to attend to the preparation of a delicious Italian dinner!

Ground floor: Entrance hall with a big Tuscan Pietraserena stairway landing to the first floor, powder room with a mini cellar, large kitchen. An impressive marble staircase will lead you to the first and second floor.

First floor: one large entrance hall, one large reception room with fireplace and a large screen home- video, second reception room with fire- place and a plasma TV, Trophy Studio with fireplace, one dining room with fireplace, one large kitchen, one linen room, one master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite large bathroom, dressing room, plasma TV, air conditioning and ceiling fan; two bedrooms with double beds and en-suite bathrooms; second master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom, plasma TV.

Second Floor: Four double bedrooms with en- suite bathroom, one room with twin beds with bathroom en-suite.

Distance by car: 5 minutes from Castellina in Chianti 15 minutes from Siena, 30 minutes from San Gimignano, 40 minutes from Florence.
