The villa is just a few kilometers from the center of the charming town of Lucca. Hidden behind imposing Renaissance walls, its cobbled streets, handsome piazzas and shady promenades make it a perfect destination to explore on foot. As you cross the old 16th-century city walls into the city, you enter the heart of the town and what is commonly referred to as “the city of one hundred churches” for the large number of religious buildings which represents marvelous examples of architectural Italian styles.

The villa is just a stone’s throw away from Pisa, exceptionally well-known for its famous Leaning Tower. Moving between its alleys and riversides you will discover architectural jewels such as Santa Maria della Spina, the headquarters of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Piazza dei Cavalieri, the great exhibitions of Palazzo Blu and the magnetic charm of Piazza dei Miracoli, which contains one of Italy’s most celebrated structures. Start from the Baptistery and head to the 130-meter Camposanto Monumentale overlooking the square.

The villa is also a few kilometers from the sunny seaside town of Viareggio, one of Tuscany’s largest seaside resorts, graced with an air of elegance lent mainly by the long avenue of palms that runs the length of its seafront promenade. The garden also features a generous al fresco dining area with barbecue in the shade of a rose-covered trellis.

Accessed from the garden, the ground floor of the villa boasts a generous living room featuring comfortable sofas and armchairs with plenty of seating and a light-filled dining room featuring beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and large windows overlooking the garden.
