Porto Cesareo sits on a prestigious part of the Ionian coast, enjoying a long stretch of beach and sparkling clean seas. The popular seaside resort has an amazing 17 km of golden beach facing an archipelago of low-lying islands that form a protected bay. The water is calm and clear. Porto Cesareo is also the home of a nature preserve that is a marine protected area rich in flora and fauna with very rare species. Underwater excursions allow for viewing of the unique coral formations, turtles, sea horses, and other marine life.

The city of Gallipoli, Greek for Beautiful City, is a pearl in the blue waters of the Ionian Sea. The port has established it as a maritime town for centuries and it still has an active fishing trade. It was a trade port with ties to Orient, as seen in some of the decorations and touches around town. The elegant old center hints at its once important past.The beaches are known throughout Italy as some of the cleanest around, with colorful rows of umbrellas and bright seafront bars and restaurants decorating them in the summer.

The villa is also a few kilometers from Otranto, a natural bridge between the Mediterranean and the East, and a charming land where the ancient atmosphere of the historic center goes hand in hand with a lively nightlife. In less than forty minutes by car, you can easily reach Gallipoli, whose name means “beautiful city”: before exploring the narrow and paved streets of the historic center, from where you can catch an occasional glimpse of the sea, stop off at the fish market and mingle with the crowds.

Villa Mea is about 81 km from Brindisi Airport (also known as Salento Airport) and 200 km from the Bari Karol Wojtyla International Airport. The beach of Porto Selvaggio is about 5 km from the villa, the beach of Santa Caterina is 2.5 km, the beach of Santa Maria al Bagno is 4 km. Other sandy beaches are about 7 km. Rivabella is 11 km, Sant’Isidoro is 10 km, Porto Cesareo is 17 km, and the beaches of Gallipoli are about 15/20 km. Lecce is 34 km, Gallipoli is 14 km, Otranto is 63 km.

The Property

Located just outside the pretty fishing village of Santa Caterina in the area of Porto Selvaggio, Villa Mea is a charming villa in one of the most evocative corners in Southern Italy. Offering rustic yet elegant interiors, this exclusive villa boasts white walls and natural colors reflecting the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside. The villa can accommodate up to six guests in three spacious bedrooms (two double bedrooms and one twin room), each with its own private bathroom.

Surrounded by a lush garden, the villa boasts an exceptional kidney-shaped pool with Jacuzzi corner and a generous paved poolside area furnished with sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind. Offering a tranquil atmosphere, the poolside area also features an al fresco dining area in the shade of a white pergola. The garden also boasts two outdoor showers with hot water and a guest bathroom complete with washing machine.

Flooded with light, the interior living space boasts an open-plan living and dining area where you will find a cozy TV corner for relaxing evenings spent catching up on family news. Offering a welcoming atmosphere, the villa also features a fully-equipped kitchen for rustling up delicious local dishes, which can be enjoyed either in the dining area or outside, on the fully-furnished patio area.The villa features three bedrooms: two double bedrooms and one twin room, each with en-suite bathroom with shower. The twin beds can be converted into a double bed with a mattress pad. A crib is available on request at no additional cost.
