With wonderful views of the surrounding hills, this elegant masterfully-restored villa is the perfect location for unforgettable day trips to the most beautiful towns in Tuscany. The villa is just a stone’s throw from Montalcino, extremely well-known for the production of its Brunello red wine, one of the world’s most appreciated Italian wines.

Explore Grosseto and wander around its 16th-century Medici walls, now transformed into gardens perfect for a pleasant walk. The wide walls form a hexagonal shape and enclose the whole of the historic center of the city. Enjoy a Tuscan lunch before visiting the Romanesque cathedral. Originally dating back to the 13th-century, it was extensively remodeled in the 19th-century. Then visit the smaller churches of San Francesco and San Pietro, which date back to the Medieval period.

The villa is also a few kilometers from Siena. Its ancient red brick buildings, the scallop-shaped main square Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral Square, dominated by the zebra-striped Duomo, make it an absolute must for anyone traveling to Tuscany. Effectively an open-air museum celebrating the Gothic, Siena boasts secular monuments that have retained both their medieval forms and their exceptional art collections, providing plenty to marvel at.

The villa is just a few kilometers from San Gimignano, one of the best preserved medieval towns in Italy. From afar, San Gimignano looks like a town from a Renaissance painting: a circle of 13th-century walls enclosing tall, teetering stone towers. Its towers make it instantly recognizable, but the art treasures held within its walls are just as remarkable. Although the town is small, there is enough art, architecture and fine food to keep you busy for more than one day.

In less than two hours by car you can reach Volterra, one of Tuscany’s most dramatic hilltop towns. Despite its many attractions, Volterra sees fewer tourists than other Tuscan towns, so you can expect to share its winding stone streets with locals and explore its ancient sites without crowds. Founded by the Etruscans and surrounded by medieval walls, Volterra has a notable historic center filled with fascinating Roman ruins, medieval buildings and alabaster workshops.

In two hours by car you can easily reach Florence, a treasure trove of art with an astonishing contemporary vibe. Beyond the extraordinary artistic heritage, a testimony to its centuries of civilization, the best way to enjoy Florence is to stroll along the riverside avenues at sunset, or to get lost among the city’s myriad alleyways of the bohemian Oltrarno or the narrow little streets of San Niccolò, where it feels like you have ended up in another time along its centuries-old walls.

The Property
Set in a serene countryside of gently rolling hills, Villa La Fontana provides the perfect retreat for those seeking complete privacy and relaxation in the heart of Tuscany. Surrounded by wine estates and located just a few kilometers from Montalcino, this magnificent villa has been masterfully restored while preserving the atmosphere of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse. Villa La Fontana can accommodate up to sixteen guests featuring eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms spread over the main villa and the dépendance.

Immersed in a lush garden, this exclusive villa boasts a magnificent swimming pool and a paved poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers inviting guests to sit back and unwind. Offering a tranquil atmosphere, the poolside area represents an idyllic spot for basking in the sun and enjoying wonderful moments of relaxation in the company of a good book and a glass of prosecco. The outdoor space also features a generous al fresco lounge area and a dining area with barbecue.

Accessed from the garden, the ground floor of the main villa boasts a spacious living room with vaulted ceilings, fireplace and sofas with plenty of seating. As the evening falls, gather around the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine with your fellow guests. Flooded with light, the ground floor also houses a generous dining room with access to the outdoor patio with dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen with a small table and all the amenities you might need during your stay.

Located in a separate annex you will find a living room accessed from the garden and a double bedroom complete with bathroom with shower accessed from a short flight of steps. Offering an exquisite blend of period charm and modern comfort, the first floor of the main villa houses a bright living room with TV, fireplace and sofa bed. On the same floor you will also find three comfortable double bedrooms complete with bathroom with tub and a twin room with bathroom with tub.

The dépendance can accommodate up to six guests. The ground floor of the dépendance boasts a living room, a double bedroom with bathroom with tub and shower, and a twin room with bathroom with tub. Accessed from a short flight of steps, the first floor of the dépendance houses a comfortable double bedroom complete with bathroom with bathtub. Please note that this bathroom can be found on the ground floor.
